The Regional Landcare Facilitator (RLF) Initiative is a federal Government initiative that works within the broader Australian Landcare movement to provide support for sustainable agriculture and natural resource management at a national level by:

  • Providing a mechanism for Landcare and natural resource management stakeholders to exchange information, share experiences and learn from each other.
  • Encouraging partnerships and networks across Landcare and natural resource management stakeholders.
  • Providing advice to the Minister and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

An evaluation of the RLF initiative was commissioned by the Australian Government in 2012 to assess the impact, effectiveness and appropriateness of the initiative. Completed in October 2012, the evaluation used a participatory approach that involved input from Australian Government program representatives, regional NRM stakeholders and RLFs.
