Planning - where to start?

An important first step in creating an effective monitoring and evaluation framework for your organisation or a specific initiative is to develop a written strategy outlining what information is needed and by whom. There are a number of things to consider:

• who is it for
• what’s included in the scope of the plan and what’s not
• the timeframe of the plan
• what success would look like for the plan - what would it do if it was really useful
