Katrina is a social science researcher with a background in international and community development. She has experience in business development, project coordination and applied qualitative research.

Before joining Clear Horizon, Katrina worked with an international development company as a Bidding Unit Project Coordinator, assisting with the development of project proposals for clients such as AusAID, USAID and DfID. She has also worked as a project administrator on an AusAID –funded health project for Samoa.

As part of her Bachelor of Social Science, Katrina undertook a number of qualitative research projects including an evaluation of a Red Cross program for homeless youth, a study examining the barriers facing school-aged refugees in Queensland’s school system and an Honours project on community gardens. During her final year of study, she was also involved in two short-term consultancies with the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining. The first was a project based in rural Queensland to establish a stakeholder panel that could draw on the expertise of local landowners and conservation groups for the evaluation of land rehabilitation activities. The second was an external evaluation of the resettlement activities of a mine in the Solomon Islands against international standards around community engagement, consultation and compensation.
