Bethany Davies, Support Consultant
Bethany has a background in overseas development and training coordination. She has a BA (Honors) in International Relations from Deakin University and an MA in International Development studies from RMIT.
Bethany is an extremely organised and analytical consultant. She is has facilitated and coordinated several workshops and has top-class people skills. Bethany is also a skilled project manager and training coordinator having managed large scale development training programs in Australia, Cambodia and Vanuatu. She has coordinated and facilitated a range of overseas development study tours, conferences and youth summits.
Prior to joining the team at Clear Horizon Bethany was the South Asia regional co-ordinator with the NGO ‘Engineers Without Borders’. In this role she dealt extensively with partner organisations in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka, managed the in country volunteer sending program and developed a suite of development training resources. Before this Bethany worked in Vanuatu for a period of time establishing a number of community action groups aimed at creating opportunities for youth in rural communities.
Working closely with Jess across a diverse portfolio Bethany’s recent work at Clear Horizon includes:
- Co-facilitation of an ‘ideas’ harvesting workshop with diverse stakeholders concerning the Urban Fringe Weed Initiative
- Conducting research and report writing as part of a team evaluating AusAID’s engagement with civil society
- Reviewing evaluation reports for the Office of Development Effectiveness, AusAID
- Co-facilitating a design workshop for the Commonwealth Government for government strengthening program in Indonesia.
