As a sociologist, Vicki is intrigued by how people interact with each other and why they do the things that do.
She is a keen observer who tries to pay attention to the complexity and interdependence of connections in the world. Central to her work as a social analyst is her ability to view problems or issues from many vantage points. She appreciates that individuals in society, just as individuals in a team, bring different perspectives, skills, opinions, and ideas. A project may simultaneously represent a benefit for some and a detriment to others. Questioning, balancing, mitigating, compromising, redesigning, collaborating, consulting … are all key, and necessary, tasks that follow from an appreciation of diversity.
Vicki has a passion for words and how they are used, what they mean in different contexts and how they frame debate.
Away from Clear Horizon Vicki pursues practical pursuits in woodworking which involves furniture making and seemingly never-ending home renovations. Her dogs are of no help in either pursuit.
