Good program evaluations provide robust evidence that informs decision-makers in their understanding of the effectiveness of an intervention and help them create shared recommendations for the way forward.

This program introduces participants to tools that blend participatory evaluation with change management to enable adaptive management. The training session is aimed at providing participants with an awareness of how to lead successful change through participatory practices with the aim of:

  • enabling information to be used for adaptive management and to produce change
  • identifying the most appropriate times and forms to engage in participatory processes
  • facilitating sharing between a range of stakeholder groups
  • introducing a tool kit for embedding sustainable change

The program provides an opportunity for participants to raise and discuss challenges most relevant to them.The program begins with the basics of evaluation and expands to discuss how evaluation can be an effective tool for adaptive management, initiating and sustaining change. The program blends the practices and tools of participatory evaluation with that of change management to foster a strong culture of adaptive management and learning.

Participants progress through a series of activities that introduces tools, and approaches to support learning, feeding into program improvement and organisation effectiveness.
