The ANCP program supports Australian NGOs to improve the living standards and well-being of individuals and communities in developing countries. In 2018 Clear Horizon assessed the extent to which DFAT and ANCP NGOs have confidence in the reporting systems used by ANCP NGOs and to make recommendations for strengthening these systems. The review methodology included (i) document review; (ii) semi-structured key informant interviews; (iii) data synthesis and (iv) a summit workshop to present, discuss and finalise the review findings to the various partners.

Following the summit workshop, a second stage of data analysis and synthesis was conducted to incorporate the perspectives of the 37 ANCP NGOs present at the summit workshop and to finalise the findings of the review. The report included six forward-looking recommendations to improve the overall credibility of ANCP data.
