Kate capitalises on
her deep knowledge of evaluation and the natural researcher in us all, to make
evaluation pragmatic, rigorous and rewarding.
Kate has been in the evaluation game since 2001, delivering evaluation services across a wide range of sectors, including community development, sustainability, research and development (R&D), agriculture and natural resource management. Kate has undertaken Masters-level study in evaluation at the University of Melbourne.
Kate came to evaluation through her Honours research which involved an evaluation of a publicly funded extension program. This work grew into a formal evaluation role with the Victorian Government’s then Department of Natural Resources and Environment and a move to Clear Horizon in 2006.
In her time at Clear Horizon, Kate has managed innumerable program evaluations and supported a wide range of clients in evaluation capacity building. Internationally, she has also worked with the Vietnamese Government to publish guidelines on evaluating agricultural R&D projects.
Mentoring others in evaluation is where it’s at for Kate; she loves helping clients do evaluation for themselves, and where possible, by themselves. She’s also passionate and unafraid of report writing! Outside of work, Kate devours literature, is always planning the next cycle tour and is constantly amused by the toddler in her household.
